From May 21, 2026, change in the method of residence notifications for Vietnamese citizens and temporary residence declarations for foreigners

The Ministry of Public Security will officially change the method of residence notifications and temporary residence declarations on a new website to synchronize data and comprehensively transform digitally, as follows:

Instead of having to access multiple different platforms as before, from May 21, 2026, residence notifications (for Vietnamese citizens) and temporary residence declarations (for foreigners) will be done uniformly at a single address: http://tbltkbtt.bocongan.gov.vn/ or by downloading the mobile application (Android and iOS).

Previously registered accounts will continue to be used. However, users need to update their username according to the new structure: local prefix - old username.

Local prefix: is the abbreviation of the provincial/city-level locality.

Example:       hn_: Ha Noi

hp_: Hai Phong

Previously, on May 11, 2026, the Immigration Office of Ho Chi Minh City Public Security also informed that accommodation businesses establishments should note that they must cease using the old platforms from May 21, 2026 on the website: https://hochiminh.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn and the ASM software. All declarations after the aforementioned date must be done on the new system of the Ministry of Public Security.

Enterprises should pay attention to this to promptly declare correctly according to regulations for avoiding penalties due to late declarations.
